Practicing with the new camera.

...messing with the shutter speed...

...in "P" mode...

... practicing indoors...

...getting a little artistic...

... catching a total crack-up...

what do you think?

I'm considering a new camera as well. Why did you decide on this one? Any tidbits of information to help me decide will be very helpful.

Dina,
I went with the Nikon D60. It is supposed to be a good entry level DSLR. I read a lot of reviews on Nikons and Canons (the new Canon Rebel specifically)and it seemed that the D60 had better reviews. The main complaint with the Canon Rebel was that 50% of the time, when shooting in the Auto mode, the pictures turned out blurry. I've had this new camera for a couple of weeks now (have taken over 300 pictures!) and I am very pleased. It's easy to use, but I do recommend buying one of the books out there about the specific camera you buy. They give you so much more helpful info than just the instruction booklet that the camera comes with
.
Good luck and let me know what you decide to go with!

You're doing great!!

If you want to learn more check for classes at local camera stores. That's what I did. It was great hands on experience and it challenges you with homework!
